On the eve of 40 years of ODL service celebrations, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University has launched its Online Learning portal to offer Massive Open Online Learning Courses (MOOCs). MOOCs are developed in four quadrants including – eContent and eTutorials; asynchronous and synchronous learning interactions, self- and instructor-assessments; student engagement activities.

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING

This course on Guidance and Counselling is designed to provide an introduction to the field of counselling and guidance, and to develop the skills and competencies required to be an effective counsellor. The course is divided into eight units that cover various aspects of the field. In the first unit, Introduction to Guidance and Counselling, you will learn about the concept of guidance and counselling, its importance, and the various theoretical frameworks that underpin it. In the second unit, Guidance and Counselling, you will explore the different types of counselling and the ways in which they can be applied in different settings.
The third unit focuses on the Skills and Competencies of a Counsellor, including active listening, empathy, communication, and problem-solving. The fourth unit, Enhancing Self Image and Self Esteem, will explore the importance of self-worth and confidence, and how counselling can help individuals in this area. The fifth unit, Concept of Self as Human, will delve into self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-actualization. The sixth unit, Growth to Autonomy, will explore the process of achieving independence. The seventh unit, Guidance and Counselling in Inclusive Education, will focus on how counsellors can support students with diverse learning needs. BRAOU has launched the 6-Week MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) Stress Management. Enrollments are Open now. Follow the steps given below to register in the course.

Step 1: Navigate to the BRAOU's eLearning Portal https://elearning.braou.ac.in/
Step 2: On the Log in box, click on the 'New account' button
Step 3: Submit the Sign up form for creating a new account
- Note down your username and password - The password must have at least 8 characters, at least 1 digit(s), at least 1 lower case letter(s), at least 1 upper case letter(s), at least 1 non-alphanumeric character(s) such as as *, -, or #
Step 4: Go to your email and activate your BRAOU Moodle account
Step 5: On the site home, scroll down to the 'Available Courses' and click on the course 'Stress Management.'
Step 6: Log in using your registered login credentials
Step 7: Click on 'Enrol me button' to enrol into the course
